This is the intermediate (more advanced) real life math game. Students create a fictional avatar and engage in a weekly real life math task that resembles financial decisions such as earning a realistic salary, paying income tax, etc. The goal of the game is to teach students how to manage their finances in the future.
The game has been extremely engaging to students and extremely well-received by parents who like that their children come home and discuss financial literacy as a result of this game.
It is meant to be done once a week for most of the year as there are 37 different objectives.
Each objective build on the next so for example one week students learn the cost of cell phone plans and purchase one for their avatar. The next week they continue to pay their monthly cell phone bill but will have a new financial decision to make. Sometimes the objectives earn money, sometimes it costs money, and sometimes it is up to fate like selecting a card or rolling a dice.
Please also see my junior (simple) edition that has 32 objectives that are less advanced and for younger students.
