This intermediate Spanish reading is about a family celebrating Day of the Dead. It contains vocabulary pertaining to important life events and rituals such as baptisms, birthdays, weddings and funerals. The story contains verbs in the present tense, preterit and imperfect. It is a good reading for practicing the preterit versus the imperfect.
Before the reading there is a vocabulary list of important words. After the reading, there are three activities to practice reading comprehension and writing in Spanish. See my listing for "Intermediate Spanish Reading: El guerrero ninja" to see how I typically teach a story.
