PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The following lesson, and attached assignment/rubric for purchase is based on the Healthy Eating Strand for Grade 7 (Ontario Curriculum). Students will need to be reminded that although they can present their information in anyway, they must be aware of the time that is being allotted to them.

Lesson Instructions:

1. Minds On: Brainstorm some different unhealthy behaviours that were discussed in last class (i.e., drunk driving, frozen dinners, not exercising, “couch potato”, etc.). As students give answers, review some of the influences on these different behaviours.
2. Create something (their choice) that illustrates/speaks of some of the internal and external influences that can factor in, and presents two suggestions to improve the behavior. (Suggestion: Make it an assignment that can finish in 30-40 minutes). Examples of influences: peers, family, emotions, culture, allergies, budget, technology, media
