Excited to teach Internment by Samira Ahmed, but not sure how to touch on all the important features of this text? This reading journal and workbook for Internment will make that job so much easier!

This 40-page resource is based around 5 C-E-R (claim, evidence, reasoning) writing prompts. The journal has rubrics built in, but also comes with rubric-free pages in case you have a different grading style. Other activities include analyses of dystopian features, characterization, setting, and poetry.

This resource even includes enrichment activities such as Internment-themed coloring pages, a crossword, and reflective journal responses. These activities are great for early-finishers, or for fidgety students to do while listening to the audio book version. They make for excellent sub plans as well!

You can see the entire reading journal in the preview, so please check that out before your purchase.

The workbook itself can be copied into a booklet, but can also be left full-size to be placed in a binder or to be given out as individual worksheets. The reading journal is designed in black-and-white for easy printing.

With this resource you will get:

  • One 40-page reading journal
  • Five alternate pages--these are the same writing prompts included, but without a rubric
  • A PDF of copying/teaching suggestions
  • Answer keys for included activities
