How you will prepare the students for the activity by reviewing vocabulary and grammar:
Before I ask students to do the activity we will review the vocabulary and grammar. I will ask either/or questions such as: do we use gusta or gustan with actions? Do we use gusta o gustan with plural nous? Also, I will ask how do we ask a friend do you like to ________. And how do you respond?
How you will give instructions and model the activity:
I will give instructions in front of the class first by reading the directions that are on the worksheet and then giving an actual model by using the worksheet.
What you will do while the students are working on the activity:
A sample dialog that you expect students to perform while working on the activity
While students are working I will be walking around and listening to students conversations. If they make a mistake I correct them. I will listen for their comprehension of the grammar and the ability to use the vocabulary. Once the activity is done, I will quickly go over some major points that I heard students had problems with. For example pronouncing something.
A sample conversation in English:
Student A: Do you like to watch TV?
Student B: No, I do not like to watch TV.
Student B: Do you like to run and to practice sports?
Student A: No, I do not like to run and practice sports.
Student A: Do you like ice cream?
Student B: Yes! I do like ice cream.
A self-assessment that you will have the students fill out after they complete the activity:
I know how to say I like something in Spanish.
I feel confortable asking a friend what do you like in Spanish.
I know how to use verb gustar.
I know vocabulary for this chapter.
