Interpol Investigates is an engaging geography simulation that teaches students geography skills in a fun environment with teamwork and friendly competition. In this simulation, students are put into teams of ‘Interpol agents.’ The teams must travel to different continents, where they complete various missions. They receive money for successful missions, and a bonus if they reach all 6 continents on the map. The team with the most money at the end of the simulation is the winner.
It teaches skills including:
-Identifying continents and oceans
-Latitude and longitude
-Identifying cities and countries
-Using a map scale
-Using a map grid
-Locating geographical features
Before they get started on their travels, they must complete 'basic training,' which includes identifying continents, oceans, and latitude and longitude. On each continent, teams complete missions that require various map skills and geography research. There are 3 'missions' per continent (Antarctica excluded), making a total of 18.
