Interpret Multiplication of Fractions as Scaling - 5th Grade Common Core Math Standard
This easy to use PowerPoint game can be used to teach and/or review the important 5th grade common core subject – Interpret multiplication as scaling. There are 5 review slides that explain the multiplication of fractions as scaling rules. Each rule has examples included! In addition, there are 15 multiplication as scaling questions can be used to review before quizzes and tests. This is also an engaging way to review before standardized tests. Or, use this game during a teacher observation from your principal/superintendent. The game is animated with captivating sounds, such as applause when students answer a question correctly or wah-wah and boos when answers are incorrect. The PowerPoint plays a fun game called “Tomato Smash” in which students can “hit” tomatoes that contain the correct answer to smash them and earn points for their team. To add to the excitement, a Koosh ball or stress ball can be used (a red ball is ideal to resemble a tomato) if using a SmartBoard to play Tomato Smash.
This can be used with SmartBoard, Promethean boards, Elmo, or projectors connected to computers in your classroom. Instructions for gameplay is included.
