This lesson is the first of five lessons in the Math 1 Linear Equations and Inequalities Unit.
In this lesson, the students will learn how to:
~identify the different parts of an expression,
~convert basic mathematical expressions and equations to English sentences (and vice versa),
~distinguish between linear and exponential functions,
~identify the y-intercept and rate of change given a linear or exponential function.
The download for this lesson includes guided notes (with examples and class work problems), an answer key to the guided notes, and a SMART Notebook presentation that corresponds with the guided notes that includes a “Ticket Out the Door”.
Unit 2: Linear Equations and Inequalities
Lesson 1: Interpreting Expressions
Lesson 2: Solving Multi-Step Equations
Lesson 3: Solving and Graphing Inequalities
Lesson 4: Writing and Solving Equations
Lesson 5: Rearranging Equations and Formulas to Highlight an Indicated Variable
