A two-page document on political cartoons that uses Barack Obama as the subject matter.
On the first page students are introduced to "political cartoons" and shown an example with a clear written analysis of the content, effects, and message of the cartoon. On page two students look at another Obama cartoon and perform an analysis of their own on the content, effects, and message of the cartoon.
This activity could be extended further by having students create and draw their own political cartoons. Since the worksheet involves interpretation on a political figure and answers will logically vary among students, there is not an "answer key." The worksheet is ideal for grades 8-12.
