Interpretive Listening can sometimes be the hardest part of learning a foreign language for students. Students often need additional practice to progress in their language development.
This partner activity has students reading 12 sentences to a partner, while their partners write what they hear and draws a picture representing what they wrote and heard. This activity is centered around a unit on vacations using Preterite.
Students hear a variety of verbs in Preterite and a variety of activities that are typically done on vacation. After partner #1 finishes hearing, writing and drawing the 12 sentences, partner #2 then does the same with a different set of statements about a vacation. Then both check each others' papers for accuracy based on what they read.
This activity asks students to operate in the target language, practice their fluency, speaking, listening and writing.
