PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This packet is an intervention packet that is intended on being used in a small group setting for students who are struggling with blending phonemes and syllables.

The best thing about this packet is there is hardly any prep work involved. All you need to do is print out the packet, put the pages in sheet protectors (optional) and put them in a binder. Pull this binder out any time for blending activities.

There are 4 sections in this packet:

1. This section provides materials for blending phonemes. Copy each of the following pages, laminate (optional) and cut the pictures into two or three pieces along the dotted lines. Show the students each piece of a picture separately. Next, say the corresponding phoneme. Then, have children move the pieces together as they blend the phonemes and say the whole word.

2. This section provides materials for blending syllables. Copy each of the following pages, laminate (optional) and cut the pictures into two or three pieces along the dotted lines. Show the students each piece of a picture separately. Next, say the corresponding syllable. Then, have children move the pieces together as they blend the syllables and say the whole word.

3. This section provides you with some blending activities you can do in your small group. There is really no prep involved. Use this section of activities to have your students become better blenders!

4. This section provides materials for assessing students on blending sounds together. Test students by showing students the picture and having them say the beginning, middle, and ending sound and putting the sounds together. Option: You can say the sounds to each picture and have the student blend.
