Help your students find out more about their new classmates at the start of the year with this fun speaking and listening activity!
Put all student’s names into a hat. Choose students one at a time to draw out the name of a peer who they’ll be interviewing, set up partners.
Give students time to write down 5-10 interview questions to ask their partner.
Students work with their partner to ask the questions they came up with.
This activity requires students to listen attentively to their peer and record their responses. Swap roles! Once partners have had a chance to interview each other, they now must put all of their information onto the poster in their own sentences.
Print the letter page onto different coloured card stocks.
Students can mix and match the letter colours to make their partners name. Glue the partner’s name underneath the title ‘introducing’ as pictured.
Take a photo of each student so that their partners can attach it to their poster.
You may like to have students read their posters aloud so that everyone gets a chance to learn something new about the people in their class. Display when complete
