I wrote this to condense the information regarding the Intolerable Acts, and to throw in some questions throughout to connect my students to the material. I also wrote seven questions that require students to think about what they have read and give written explanations for each. Topics included: Committee of Correspondence, First Continental Congress, Patrick Henry quote,trade and how it affects the economy etc. You could easily use this passage in a "close reading" lesson. Students may need to use their resources to find definitions to some words. I did this intentionally, as I am trying to motivate my students to find the meanings of words they do not know while they are reading.
