Intro To Art Class (Beginning Art)
Here is a lesson I like to use at the start and end of the school year. Students create an envelope and a drawing "letter" to put inside. They seal it up and I save it until the end of the school year. When the end of the year rolls around I pull the envelopes out and pass them back to the students. They love seeing how far they have come with their art and drawing skills.
This lesson would also be a great sub plan for one or more days. Instruction time is minimal because it is all on the student handout. Students can be independent while working on their envelope. I usually give them at least 1-2 hours depending on class periods and speed of students working in class.
