This hand-out allows you to easily teach the main elements of argumentation while having students follow along, fill in the blanks, and come up with their own examples. Have students read an argument article as an example (I found some great ones in SCOPE magazine), and then use this hand-out to walk them through the different steps of argumentation. As you discuss each element of argumentation, students will go back to their example article to fill in examples of each element on this hand-out.
This is a great introductory assignment to get students familiar with important terms. I have included an answer key on pages 3-4.
