Description

This introduction to design project tasks students with developing their design aesthetic and applying it to a vision board. This project uses the free online program, Canva, to introduce students to the concept of digital design, layout, and aesthetics.

In an Introduction to Design or Media Art course, learning program basics is an essential part, and adding a personal theme by incorporating a project that they can tailor to their interests can help with project buy-in.

This lesson plan pack is extremely comprehensive. Even if you have zero experience with Canva, you can learn along with the students with the resources included. This is a perfect intro to learning about design-based careers such as graphic design.
