Making inferences is not always the easiest skill to teach, but with this activity, you'll have your students inferring away!
This set could be used for a whole group, small group, center, or independently after introducing.
Inside this set, you will find the lesson ideas I used to introduce making inferences using this set and other materials. You will also find 17 picture frames with 1 character on each. There are also 2 example pages to give you an idea of how it works. Finally, there are 4 writing pages to allow you to extend the activity into writing. I have one sheet with 4 on it that have the set up "I infer ______ because..." and one sheet of 4 with only lines. The next two are full paged lined frames: 1 with dotted lines and 1 with solid lines.
Have you students draw a scene that would make sense with the characters on their pages. When explaining their drawings, you could have them start out by saying, "I infer ____________ because..." This way they are bringing it back to the skill focus. Then they can explain more if they'd like.
Of course, that is just a few ideas of uses with this set!!
I hope you and your students enjoy this activity!!
