This product contains four items all with the purpose of introducing different terms associated with satire to students with examples that students can work through.
1) Satire PowerPoint: This PowerPoint gives definitions and examples through images for 9 satirical tools including verbal irony, dramatic irony, situational irony, travesty, parody, hyperbole, understatement, malapropism, and anachronism. The images are not explained on each slide, so students can discuss each example as you go through the slides to promote discussion and participation.
2) Guided Notes: These guided notes are organized in Cornell note formatting with blanks for key words as well as lines next to each image for them to explain how each picture represents a type of satire.
3) Guided Notes Complete: This answer key has the key word blanks filled out. (The blanks next to the images are still in tact without answers though.)
3) Answer Key: This one page document gives explanations of each picture for the teacher as well as some extra verbal examples that can be shared during the PowerPoint to help students brainstorm their own examples.
