If students are highly interested in the unit you are about to study, then you are setting yourself up for a happy and productive few weeks ahead! This introductory lesson on the Middle East Region is always a great springboard for fascinating class discussion where you really see your students applying what you've taught them to explain the modern world!
This student-centered lesson is designed for you to easily guide students as they discover key ideas about the Mid-East on their own! The class will be creating an Instragram pic or tweet about the region, reflecting on their stereotypes in a true/false challenge, and showing what they've learned in a Mythbusters activity. The PowerPoint includes links to short video clips with a concept web to include in student interactive notebooks. Students will put on their thinking caps as they analyze maps from "40 Maps that Explain the World" featuring the Mid-East and draw their own conclusions about the region.
Includes: A PowerPoint Presentation with Warm-up and Summary Activities, Maps, a Concept Web, a True/False Activity, 40 Maps Student Handout, and a Teacher's Quick Reference Guide
