The PPT presentation is designed to introduce students to Whole Brain Teaching, a method developed by Chris Biffle. The presentation also introduces students to the grammar concept of punctuating titles. It contains WBT instructions for students. Students learn WBT by using WBT to teach each other (using the method to teach the method). Students then apply WBT to the grammar concept of punctuating titles. The PPT also contains a WBT review and titles review. There is also a titles Exit Slip available for purchase.
Chris Biffle is the creator of the method. He created the classroom rules, scoring method, etc. I have designed a presentation to make introducing WBT simple for teachers and students. It is color coded and contains simple directions.
Whole Brain Teaching is a method of teaching the involves combining verbal communication with physical gestures. Students don't listen to the teacher talk forever; the students talk to each other -- they TEACH each other. Teaching concepts using physical gesture helps students remember information much more effectively than traditional teaching methods. You will never want to lecture again once you see the EXCITEMENT for learning taking place. In addition, you will receive undivided attention from ALL of your students -- GOODBYE classroom management problems! Imagine gaining full attention simply by say ONE word -- it can happen. Whole Brain Teaching can be adapted to EVERY grade level.
