Four pages to help lower level students write their own speech to introduce themselves. The project starts with a brainstorming graph to help students think of words to describe themselves, then the next page asks them questions and has scaffolded sentences to help them answer. After that, students write their first draft of their speech in a scaffolded worksheet. Students can also draw a picture of themselves. Then the final page prompts students to revise and write their final draft of their speech.
I use this in my ESL classroom with lower level English students. When students just start the year or switch classes, or just need help with some basics, this helps them a lot. It also eases them into writing and helps them understand some basic sentence structures.
