These PowerPoint notes introduce the formulas for and vocabulary related to finding the area of parallelograms and triangles.
They help students to identify which shapes are parallelograms and when a parallelogram and triangle needs to have an altitude line added in order to find its area.
The notes are designed for students to write down themselves into a notebook, interactive notebook, or used to introduce a topic or at the end of a lesson to summarize the concepts.
This file can be uploaded to Google Classroom as a Google Slides document and viewed on "Present" mode if you would like students to use this individually or even at home for front-loading a lesson.
The 4 slides are designed to present the information a bit at a time. They are not 4 unique slides, but rather use animation to add information a piece at a time so that teachers can present the information without overwhelming the students with too much, too quickly.
