This is an introductory unit on BeeBots designed to teach students the basic functions of a BeeBot through a discovery hands-on learning approach. This unit is designed for kinder to year 2 and includes 5 1 hour lessons. It takes students from learning how BeeBots works and its basic button features through to completing ever challenging mazes and ends with your students being able to write the algorithm (code) using coding cards that represent the BeeBots button sequence. All lessons include a vocabulary section that explains specific technology vocabulary used.
Each lesson has a clear learning intention/objective and goal for students to complete and is laid out with an introduction, modelled activity, guided activity, independent student activity and conclusion.
This unit of work is aligned with the Australian and new 2017 NSW syllabus outcomes.
