PowerPoint lesson III in the "Periodic Table" Unit IV - introductory chemistry. This lesson describes the role of valence electrons to groups and properties of elements in the periodic table; identifies element reactivity based on group location, and describes some of the properties of the Group A elements.

A separate student PowerPoint worksheet for this lesson is also available.

PowerPoint lessons contain many graphics and links to short videos to further student understanding.
PowerPoint slides also contain notes for the instructor based on students most "frequently asked questions" or FAQ's to help clarify the subject.
