Description
The student will be introduced to the Biblical explanation of the development and significance of the Jewish race. The unit will present the laws given to the Jews of the Old Testament and will also examine the promises/covenants God gave to the Jewish people. Week one will cover an introduction to Abraham and Isaac. Week two will cover an introduction to Jacob and Joseph. Week three will introduce Moses including his childhood, the exodus of the Jewish people and the 10 commandments.
The purpose of this class is to introduce English language learners to the basic tenets and practices of the Christian faith in a non-confrontational and culturally sensitive manner.
The class will be taught entirely in English.
Students will practice reading, writing, listening to and speaking in English.
The class is divided into five units.
Each unit is designed to take three weeks.
The lessons are designed to fit a 30-45 minute class period.
The unit includes teacher instructions, worksheets, assessments and answer keys.
