PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a must for setting up expectations for collaborative discussions. Prior to this activity, we talked about the learning target (included) and created sentence frames for each bullet. I then had them choose 2-4 sentence frames and wrote them on a sticky - they had to cross them off when they used them.

Most students completely forgot about the sentence frames as soon as they were faced with a task, so I recommend stopping them every few minutes and giving the prompt to use a sentence frame "now".

Stranded Store is a fun project where students are stranded in a room with their group and given $500 to decide what to do with. My kiddos got super into it so expect a loud classroom! For group who claim they are done, there is an enrichment page which throws a curve-ball and creates even more discussion! I leave the sentence frames up all year and refer to them every time we work in groups.
