This Introduction to digital photography lesson encourages students to explore a topic that interests them while paying attention to their exposure. Students are given two topics to choose from: silhouettes or nature to use as a focus for their photograph project. Both topics help the students practice pushing exposure through the combination of under and over exposing, capturing even exposure, and pushing their exposure for a dramatic look.
In addition to the project they participate in class discussions, artist research, and a critique.
This pack has everything you need to introduce this photo project:
➣Artist research sheet
➣Silhouettes and Nature presentation
➣Silhouettes and Nature critique

This product was created in collaboration with my amazing friend and coworker, Meagan Brooker. Meagan has taught for many years, with a focus on AP Art, Drawing, and Photography. In addition, she has been responsible for capturing our annual family photographs, maternity, and newborn pictures that I will treasure forever. This girl knows her stuff, and better yet, how to teach it to students.
