Product Description
Students look at two examples of Input/Output tables and notice Domain and Range are the same thing. They then complete 2 non-math related problems where they create the rule and name the domain and range. There are a few math examples where they notice X and Y are also the same names.

The second page includes problems with mapping diagrams, ordered pairs, and tables where students name the domain and range. Note: the word function is not used on this sheet. It specifically is designed to get the students to understand that domain, input, and x-variable are the same and range, output, and y-variable are the same.

Teaching suggestion: I usually let my students work in partners or groups of 4 on this sheet. They can discuss the rules and vocabulary and participate in math discourse.
