This is a fantastic project for an Introductory Economics course or an AP Microeconomics course. This project aims to connect students to microeconomic theory and see its application in the real world by interviewing business owners about topics they learn about in class.
Students are given a guided list of microeconomic topics to cover in their project and are expected to interview someone in their community about how major economic trends impact their own life and/or business. This is a great way for students to reteach terms/concepts for maximum content retention and a way to engage in their community.
The project also provides a loose grading rubric that you adapt to your own classes' needs. It also lets students know how you will be grading the project overall.
