Intended for the study of films in Spanish, this handout provides introductory steps to analysing film, and a comprehensive glossary of vocabulary in English and Spanish with detailed explanations and examples. The examples relate to the Almodovar film, Volver, but the principles can be applied to any film. It is roughly aimed at students aged 16+. Whilst this resource is designed to provide information, you could also create activities from it, for example, by mixing up the Spanish and English words to create a match-up activity, or matching words to definitions. Or, you could assign different students certain terms and ask them to produce a short analysis of these aspects in one key scene of their chosen film to present to the class.
