Do you need to introduce your students to the different types of folk tales? Do they need to know the characteristics of folk tales? Well then this PowerPoint is for you! This is a simple introduction to what folk tales are and the different types (fairy tale, tall tale, fable, trickster and pourquoi). The last few slides give a description of a book and ask students what type of folk tale it is. This provides for a good review. The PPT should take about 20-25 minutes to go through. The preview shows most of the PPT slides but not all. It does not show the brochure, you can see this in the thumbnails.
There is also a brochure for students to read and color that goes over the same information that is in the PPT lesson. It is one page double sided.
I have done this lesson with my 2nd and 3rd grade students and it has worked well.
**** Do Not Purchase if you have the What is a Folk Tale SmartBoard lesson, it is basically the same just in a different format.***
The file is in a zip format, you must have an unzip program to open it. If you need help with this please let me know.
