This PPP contains 43 slides designed for children to introduce them to the German alphabet and basic german introduction dialogues.
It's full of funny cliparts and gifs, colorful and fun. It is divided in units containing.
1)The alphabet (Note 1: does not contain ß in the first presentation, it follows later in Basic Pronunciation. Note 2: The cliparts of some letters contain the word of the English alphabet in order for you to ask "Can you tell me a word in English that starts with an O?" The student is guided by the clipart next to the letter in this case there is an "octοpus" near the "O". A german word starting with O is also given.I think that this is essential so that children can make an association with something familiar in their own language. They also learn that some words are similar in German like "pinguin" for "penguin. )
2)Basic pronunciation of =>ä ö ü ß
3)Dialogues =>introducing oneself "my name is/what is your name?
4)Dialogues => saying "nice to meet you"
5) Exercises where the student has to create his own dialogues
The diphtongs ei/ eu/ au are presented and learned through the dialogues.
It takes you approximately 1 h to finish with the presentation. If you enrich the lesson with extra exercises and oral practice it might take you a little bit longer.
This PPT was designed on Power Point 2010 so if you have an earlier version of PP some functions/movements of gifs e.t.c will be lost.
