I have had very postive feedback with this activity! This is the first thing I do to introduce my students to Greek Mythology using the book by Edith Hamilton. The mini-lesson helps them understand what the Greeks with thinking and doing when they first created the myths by having the students being put in their shoes. It also shows how we today have a very scientific mind, where the Greeks had a more imaginative mind. It is based on the introduction of the book.
This lesson involves students writing an explanation of things in nature that are "unexplainable." It includes a powerpoint and teacher procedures with incorporated notes.
