Hi there! Thank you for purchasing this item. Teaching Shakespeare is one of those ELA units that either intimidates or excites teachers. I happen to be in the latter group-–not be cause I am a Shakespeare guru, but because I genuinely love finding ways to make William Shakespeare’s work accessible to students. Thematic discussions, hands-on activities, and opportunities to “play” mark all of my Shakespeare
1. A role-playing activity, Imagine This, where students are tasked with acting out modern day thematic scenarios that mirror those which occur in Hamlet.
2. An introduction PowerPoint: Introducing the play AND Shakespeare
3. Paperless Anticipation Debate Guide
4. ”The First Scene” Activity: Students work with a partner to reenact the first scene of Hamlet.
I hope you enjoy these activities! My students absolutely love completing these assignments. I have found them to truly build my classroom community even stronger. If you have any questions for me, please let me know!
