Product Description
This is a student-lead, stations science lab I developed teaching High School Physics. Once I got it developed, it save ME tons of prep time, so I am sure it will save YOU tons of prep time. The students are always psyched when they come into class and see the stations set up, and it ends up being a relaxing day for me as well. My classes were usually no larger than 15-20. Thus, if you have larger classes, you may need to double up on a couple of the stations to make sure everyone has something to do. We usually work in groups of 4. NGSS standards included.

This is a "science stations" lab to introduce measuring skills used in high school physics (precision, accuracy, dimensional analysis, using graphs). A secondary objective for this lab is to introduce students to using MS Excel and its graphing capabilities.

This product includes:

1) Student Stations Instructions & Datasheet; instructions on how to make graphs in MS Excel (9 pages in editable Word format)
2) Teacher instructions (9 pages), includes answer key, setup instructions, station testing instructions and what should happen
3) Activity Cards - function graph ID (5 pages in PDF format)
4) Activity Cards - SI units and prefixes (10 pages in PDF format)
5) Stations label cutouts (3 editable pages in Word format)
6) Worksheet #1 - practice with Significant figures and Scientific Notation (1 editable page in Word)

Stations include:

1) Writing worksheet solutions on the board
2) Matching fundamental units of measurement with the corresponding SI unit
3) Matching the SI unit prefix e.g., (femto-, mega-, deci-) with both the prefix symbol (e.g., f, M, d) and the corresponding scientific notation
4) Collect data - using a pullback car, collect data and put in a table
5) Collect data - using a spring and weights, collect data and put in a table
6) Graphs of functional relationships activity cards
7) Accuracy and precision measurements using paces
