Offering the introduction of a book on combining yoga poses with information about animal adaptations. Good for transition time in any class, science and PE classes.
This first part is a free description of theory. Why is yoga important in the everyday classroom? How can imagining yourself a particular character create empathy for other living things? What does yoga have to do with environmental education? Why is correct posture so important to healthy bodies? Can 15 minutes of meditation in the classroom help classroom control? What do animal adaptations and ecology have to do with yoga?
This is a new approach to teaching, and I would totally be appreciative of your feedback. Look for the next series of poses I’ll be offering.
Teachers must be ready to make faces, stretch along with the kids and have fun!
