Product Description
This a 28 page mini pack that includes 15 activities designed as an introduction to the Japanese culture, suitable for Kindergarten and grade 1. While I myself am not Japanese, I spent a lot of time researching as I was required to teach about the culture (not the language) as a pre-requisite for junior students before they started their formal language lessons.

The activities are based around a fun, hands on approach to give students ‘a taste’ of Japan. Included are each of the printable activities, teacher notes to explain how to complete the activities and a YouTube link to watch a related video (if applicable to complement the task). My students really enjoyed doing these tasks and were excited to take their books home at the end of the term to show their families what they had been working on.

The activities are:
• Colour By Numbers – in Japanese
• Flag Comparison
• Folk Tales - The Rabbit in the Moon
• Kimono vs modern clothing
• Labelling Japan Map
• Life in a Japanese Elementary School
• Make a Japanese Fan
• Make a Mini Sumo Wrestler
• Make your own Cherry Blossom tree
• Maneki Neko
• Make a Noh Mask
• Numbers 1 to 10 Kanji
• Origami Paper Hats
• Cut Paste and Complete - Japanese numbers 1-9

Pages in both UK English and US English have been included where needed to accommodate for regional spelling.
