This bundle provides hyperdocs (using google docs) that walk students through what journalism means and how to be an ethical journalist. Students love finding the right information and discussion about ethical reporting is rich! I then have a linked slideshow that overviews the outline of a journalistic article (since it's very different from an essay) followed by notes on how to conduct your own newsroom workshop as students select their topics, create questions, and interview actual people in order to write their article. This two weeks in class is so much fun and gives students the autonomy to learn more about their school and community. Not to mention, the researching, speaking, listening, and writing students get to do is a standards goldmine! Enjoy!
