Product Description
This is a full introduction to types of maps and mapping terminology. The download package includes a foldable with 11 vocab words, a study guide for students and complete teacher edition, test, and "Creative Country" project explanation, sample, and rubric!!

*NEW*- I have included the flip chart I have created to go along with this unit. It is 40 slides! This price is a STEAL for the wealth of information you get.

Topics Covered:
Cardinal vs. Intermediate directions
Equator and Prime Meridian
Using a grid map, map scale
Locator map vs. inset map
Political, climate, physical, and resource maps

In my class, the students were introduced to these terms with a flipchart that I created. They can use their textbooks or atlases to find the information on the studyguide. It is not specific to any particular textbook series. As students became more comfortable with these terms, I introduced the "Creative Countries" project. It was a HUGE success!!
