This virtual lab activity allows students to work with molecular models of ten different simple inorganic and organic molecules. Aspects of bond type (ionic, polar covalent bonds, non-polar covalent bonds), Lewis Dot structures, structural formulas and molecule shape are investigated in this lab. This activity is suitable for an introduction to bonding in a high school chemistry course. The answer key and appropriate NGSS and Common Core learning standards addressed are listed at the end of the lab handout and teacher key. Please feel free to e-mail me at the address provided at the end of the answer key if you have any issues finding or using the required simulation. The activity including the key is in word and pdf format in the zip file with this activity.
Please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have difficulties with the shockwave file at the website which is associated with this activity.
