This powerpoint aligns with chapter 3 in Projects in Speech Communication published by Perfection Learning, but can also easily stand alone. It describes the ideas behind nonverbal communication including body language, multi-channeled communication, gestures, appearance, proxemics, and more. I introduce the lesson with short, free youtube videos on how to decipher lies from truths using nonverbal signals before playing two truths and a lie with the students. After the powerpoint, we will continue with nonverbal conversations, a performance miming assessment for pairs. This assessment and rubric are available in my store as well.
