Introduction to Ovid's Metamorphoses
Product Description
I created this document to introduce Ovid's Metamorphoses to my Latin 3 students. I chose the 4 myths we will read, Pyramus and Thisbe, Daedalus, Daphne and Apollo, and Baucis and Philemon. Students use their prior knowledge of Greek mythology to identify the myths depicted in the paintings. They then write what they already know, if anything, about each myth. They ask questions and make predictions about each myth based on the paintings. There are also 4 lines of Latin to translate - one from each myth. This brings about a great conversation about mythology!
