PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This lesson aligns with the Common Core State Standards:
STANDARD 5 - Matter and Energy
The teacher understands the nature and properties of energy in its various forms, and the processes by which energy is exchanged and/or transformed.
5A. understands the atomic and nuclear structure of matter and the relationship to chemical and physical properties
5D. understands the characteristics and relationships among thermal, acoustical, radiant, electrical, chemical, mechanical, and nuclear energies
5G. uses kinetic theory and the laws of thermodynamics to explain energy transformations."

PowerPoint lesson I in the "Energy" unit - introductory physics. This lesson relates energy to work; discusses kinetic and gravitational energy and describes the basic forms of energy.
A separate student PowerPoint worksheet is also available and a 20-question interactive quiz/review at kahoot.it is also included as a link in the last slide.

PowerPoint lessons contain many graphics and links to short videos to further student understanding.
PowerPoint slides also contain notes for the instructor based on students most "frequently asked questions" or FAQ's to help clarify the subject.
A class activity is included at the end of each lesson.
