This unit covers an introduction to poetry analysis using a pre-assessment, post-assessment, resources for students, and two differentiated learning practice activities. Students are introduced to poetry analysis through questions guiding them through themed groups of poems from which they construct meaning.
This unit has a variety of uses, but was designed for middle-school to early high school students. It includes a .zip file that contains seven PDF documents including pre- and post-assessment, keys, and practice activities. It generally takes 6-8 days to teach, plus or minus a few days depending on student prior knowledge.
