The student is introduced to literal and figurative language while learning about personification.
The lesson includes several assignments using personification, as well as an example from the Bible.
There are three parts to the lesson: copying definitions, journal, and assignments.
Also included are three suggestions for publishing their poetry and reading it out loud for an audience.
It is appropriate for upper elementary students that have a good grasp on the mechanics of writing and are ready for more opportunities to use writing creatively.
It is also a good unit for both middles school and high school students.
