A real-world application in which students create data to produce a scatterplot. The power point is about a used car salesman. As a class, students bid on the cars, organize the results in a chart, and graph the correlation on a coordinate grid. In doing so, students learn that the age of a car and its value have a negative associaton.
The presentation shows photos of 6-8 different models of mustangs, trucks, and SUVs. There's something for everyone!
If you play it up and prepare humorous descriptions/backgrounds about each of the cars, the students really get into it. I often refer back to this and my students still laugh!
