Product Description
I made this slideshow to introduce students to text structure, or the way informational text is organized. Students are provided with a definition of text structure, as well as definitions for the 5 main types of text structure: main idea/details; cause/effect; compare/contrast; problem/solution; and sequence. There is also a slide that gives students practice matching structure to topic. This would be good to use to help your students start some notes on text structure so that they have a basis as you explore the five different types.
