Students will use different objects to compare the concept of the mole against the concept of a dozen. They will observe that the mole is a unit of measurement a set quantity and that you can have a dozen of something and have different weights. They will observe that the mole is 6.022 x 10^23 objects and explain that on the periodic table, the number of atoms is 6.022 x 10^23 is equivalent to the molecular weight. The molecular weight of each element is different due to the size of the atom in each element. KEY INCLUDED
