This digital task card activity is great for younger students (2nd & 3rd grade) to explore drawing a still life, portrait and landscape. Introduction to Types of Art is a useful tool to introduce a lesson, practice and develop their drawing skills.
Step by step, each slide demonstrates what the student is to draw to achieve each task. Students follow along, as each slide is 8 to 10 seconds. After drawing each piece, the definition appears on the slide for students to write (Slides providing definitions remain viewable for 1 minute. Pause, if needed).
While students are working, soothing instrumentals play in the background. Even for the most reluctant art student, this is an engaging activity to have fun and hones focus skills. Effective for the most active groups.
The activity is about 15 minutes but students often will want to try more than once.
