Typing is Not for Turtles: Where to place fingers for faster typing
Most of my elementary students could type decently by pecking with 2 fingers before beginning the class. To get them interested, I emphasized how much FASTER they could type by using every finger and proper hand placement, which is how the title "Typing is Not for Turtles" came about. If that's too cheesy for your classroom, the Powerpoint is editable.
This download is a Powerpoint of 12 slides (plus the intro slide), each with a color-coded keyboard showing where to place fingers on a QWERTY keyboard. Each slide includes brief teacher notes.
